SPICED PEAR JAM RECIPE: HOW TO MAKE IT - TASTE OF HOME

- In a Dutch oven, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, until thick, 1-1/2 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Stir more frequently as the mixture thickens. , Remove from the heat; skim off foam. Carefully ladle into hot half-pint jars, leaving 1/4-in. headspace. Remove air bubbles; wipe rims and adjust lids. Process for 10 minutes in a boiling-water canner.

PEAR BREAD - PERFECTLY SPICED QUICK BREAD WITH PEARS
This quick bread is baked up with fresh pears and spices and will be your new favorite accompaniment to your morning coffee.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a loaf pan.
- Combine oil, sugar, and eggs in a mixing bowl. Beat well. Stir in pears, pecans and vanilla.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Stir dry ingredients into pear mixture.
- Pour into prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow bread to cool for about 10 minutes before removing from pan and cooling on a wire rack.
