- Line a 9-in. square pan with foil; butter the foil with 1/2 teaspoon butter and set aside. , In a microwave-safe bowl, melt candy coating; stir until smooth. Stir in peanut butter until melted. Transfer to prepared pan. Cool to room temperature. Cut into squares.

- Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until bottoms of cookies just begin to brown. Immediately press 1 milk chocolate candy into top of each cookie.

I have tried many different buckeye recipes, but this one, given to me years ago, is the best one I have used. ADDED 12/17/06: Instead of chips and paraffin wax, this year I used chocolate bark coating and it worked really well. You will need about Five - 2 oz. blocks of bark.
