Butter Flavor No-Stick Cooking Spray
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup All-Vegetable Shortening
1/2 cup Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter
1 large egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
1 cup Smucker's® Strawberry Preserves

Steps:

  • 1. HEAT oven to 350°F. Coat 13 x 9-inch baking pan with no-stick cooking spray.
  • 2. COMBINE brown sugar, shortening, peanut butter and egg in large bowl. Beat with mixer on medium speed until well blended.
  • 3. STIR flour, salt and baking soda in medium bowl until blended. Gradually blend into creamed mixture. Beat in oats.
  • 4. DIVIDE dough in half. Press one half into bottom of prepared pan to form a crust. Spoon preserves over crust, spreading evenly. Crumble remaining dough over preserves to cover evenly.
  • 5. BAKE 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely on wire rack. Cut into bars.

3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1-1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
1/2 cup chopped salted peanuts
1 jar (12 ounces) grape jelly

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Combine the flour, salt and baking soda; gradually add to creamed mixture just until combined. Stir in oats and peanuts (mixture will be crumbly)., Press half of the mixture into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Spread with jelly. Cover with remaining crumb mixture. , Bake at 400° for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars.
