Peas and Pasta Salad

1 cup Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Light Dressing
1 pound pasta
10 ounces peas
2 carrots
6 slices bacon
black pepper

Steps:

  • Cook the pasta in boiling water as directed on box for al dente, about 8 minutes.
  • Drain and place the cooked pasta in a large bowl filled with ice water to stop the pasta from over cooking. Stir until pasta is cool then drain in a colander shaking to release as much water as possible.
  • In a large bowl, mix pasta with Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Light Dressing and mix to coat. Add in the peas, carrots, and bacon. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cook’s note: If making ahead of time, cover and refrigerated the salad until ready to serve, then add the bacon right before serving.

This is a pasta salad with fresh veggies and ranch seasoning. It's served cold. I like to put my salad in a temp-tations® ceramic bowl because it chills nicely, plus I can basically do my prep and serve in the same bowl.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 (16 ounce) package pasta shells
¼ cup frozen peas
¼ cup mayonnaise (such as Kraft®), or more to taste
1 (3.75 ounce) package ranch seasoning mix
¼ cup finely chopped onion
¼ cup finely chopped red bell pepper
¼ cup finely chopped celery
¼ cup finely chopped cooked bacon
? cup shredded carrots

Steps:

  • Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil. Stir in pasta shells and return to a boil. Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until tender yet firm to the bite, 8 to 9 minutes.
  • Place a steamer insert into a saucepan and fill with water to just below the bottom of the steamer. Bring water to a boil. Add peas, cover, and steam until tender, 2 to 6 minutes.
  • Drain pasta and place in a large bowl. Add mayonnaise and mix well. Add ranch packet and mix again. Stir in the peas, onion, bell pepper, celery, bacon, and carrots to combine. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
