Baked Pancakes with Sausages Recipe | Allrecipes image

This is a quick and yummy recipe where the pancakes and sausage are all ready at the same time! Serve hot with butter and syrup.

1 pound pork sausage links
1?¾ cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
5 teaspoons white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 eggs
1?½ cups milk
3 tablespoons shortening, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Grease a 10x15 inch jellyroll pan.
  • Place sausages in a skillet and cook over medium-high heat until evenly browned. Drain on paper towels.
  • Sift together the flour, baking powder, white sugar, and salt; set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs until light and fluffy. Add milk and shortening; mix well. Gradually stir in dry ingredients until smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared jelly roll pan. Arrange sausages on top of the batter.
  • Bake in preheated oven until pancakes are golden brown and cooked through, about 15 minutes. Cut into 10 pieces and serve hot with butter and syrup.

Prepared pancake batter
12 cooked breakfast sausage links
Butter, for cooking
Maple syrup, for serving

Steps:

  • Halve each sausage link vertically to create two thinner pieces. Melt about 1 tablespoon of butter in a large nonstick skillet. Using tongs, dredge each sausage half in pancake batter. Make sure the sausage is completely coated in batter. Working in batches, add the battered sausage pieces to the pan. Cook until the bubbles begin to form on surface of the batter. Flip when the bubble start to pop, and cook on the other side until the other side is golden. Repeat until all sausage pancake dippers are cooked, adding more butter to the pan if needed. Serve sausage dippers with maple syrup for dunking.
