I didn't have any flour available (I just moved 1400 miles and haven't restocked) so I used what I had on hand. Turned out really good.

Steps:
- Mix together Pancake Mix and salt; add beaten egg and milk, stirring lightly until batter is fairly smooth. Fold in melted shortening. Drop dumplings from a tablespoon into boiling stew. Cover tightly and cook for 15 minutes without lifting the cover. Serve immediately.

Steps:
- Heat oil in large pot, add onion and saute.
- Add butter and flour to make a roue, cook a minute or so.
- Add chicken stock and bring to a boil.
- Add chicken and vegatables.
- Mix together pancake mix and water, don't over mix as it should be thick.
- Add dumpling mix in large spoon fulls into chicken stew. Simmer 10 minutes uncovered, then 10 minutes covered. Enjoy!
