ORANGE DRY FRUIT RECIPES
DEEP SOUTH DISH: MANDARIN ORANGE FRUIT SALAD
A simple and classic fruit salad made with mandarin oranges, pineapple chunks, marshmallows, sweetened coconut, maraschino cherries and dressed with sour cream.

Steps:
- Drain the oranges, pineapple and cherries well, reserving juices for another use.
- Gently pat the cherries so they are very dry.
- Combine the fruit with the marshmallows and coconut; toss to mix.
- Fold in the sour cream, taste for sweetness and adjust if needed.
- Cover and chill several hours to allow the marshmallows to plump and the flavors to meld. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

I could eat the whole bowl by myself! This is a great recipe for those who don't like Jell-O since you use it dry and it gives a totally different texture than traditional Jell-O salads. Hint: if you use orange flavored Jell-O use mandarin oranges instead of pineapple.
