2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, room temperature
½ cup white sugar
1 (13 ounce) jar chocolate-hazelnut spread, such as Nutella®
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Blend in Nutella and vanilla until no streaks remain. pour into crust. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.

It may look fancy, but this cheesecake is so simple. The secret is the speedy crust—it's from a packaged brownie mix! You don't need to be an experienced cook to make the elegant chocolate swirls on top ;anyone can do it. —Janet Brunner, Burlington, Kentucky

1 package (8 ounces) brownie mix
2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs, room temperature, lightly beaten
1 cup milk chocolate chips, melted
Whipped cream and miniature chocolate kisses, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Prepare brownie mix according to package directions for chewy fudge brownies. Spread into a greased 9-in. springform pan. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes (brownies will not test done). Cool for 10 minutes on a wire rack. , Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine the cream cheese, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs; beat on low speed just until blended. , Pour over the brownie crust. Top with melted chocolate; cut through batter with a knife to swirl the chocolate. , Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until center is almost set. Run a knife around edge of pan to loosen; cool completely. Remove sides of pan; refrigerate for at least 3 hours. Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate kisses if desired.

Our favorite brownies recipe from scratch. You only need one bowl, a saucepan, and a spoon. In the first step, we ask that you melt the butter with sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water. This process ensures that crinkly top that we all love. You can do this step in the microwave, but I do find the stovetop method to be more consistent. These brownies aren’t too sweet. If you are like us and find yourself reaching for darker chocolate over milk chocolate, these are most certainly for you. Use natural or Dutch-process cocoa powder for these (cacao powder works, too). I especially love using Droste Cacao (a Dutch process powder).
