Mrs.Fields cookies were my childhood favorite..I enjoyed all the cookies, but her butter toffee was my absolute fav! Had it as a large cookie cake once, that was the best birthday cake I ever had:). Even worked at 1 of the Mrs.Fields cookie shops as a teenager I indulged everyday lol..hopefully this recipe remake becomes a hit for you as it is for me.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 cup(s) flour
1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
1 & 1/2 stick(s) salted buttercream
2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
1/2 cup(s) granulated sugar
1/2 cup(s) brown sugar
1/2 cup(s) Heath English toffee bits/bits 'o brickle toffee bits
2 - eggs

Steps:

  • Pour in sifted flour & baking soda in bowl 1.
  • In another bowl, thoroughly stir melted buttercream, mix in the sugars, vanilla & toffee bits
  • Combine wet mixture with dry mix, pour in beaten eggs. Make sure all the ingredients are incorporated well.
  • Pour out dough on to plastic wrap. Form a log, wrap up & two weeks refrigeration is recommended before baking, crisper edges & toffee will melt better. Yes two weeks.. this dough has to age.
  • Slice quarter of an inch . Preheat oven at 350° bake until lightly golden.

Given to me my a friend, who knows a friend, etc........way back in 1987. The grinding of the oatmeal is critical. Bake these cookies on the second level from the bottom of the oven.

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2?½ cups rolled oats
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.
  • Cream butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla until very smooth and fluffy.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. In a food processor, blend oatmeal until fine. Add to flour mixture.
  • Stir butter mixture into flour/oatmeal mixture. Blend well.
  • Add chocolate chips and walnuts. Stir until blended. Roll into golf balls size and bake for 8-10 minutes. You do not want to over bake these.

  • Preheat oven to 350° and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.  In another large bowl, using a hand mixer, cream together butter and sugars until mixture resembles coarse sand. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Scrape down sides of bowl, add vanilla, and beat until combined. Add dry ingredients and mix until just combined, then stir in chocolate chips.  Using a medium cookie scoop, scoop dough 2" apart onto prepared pans. Bake until golden and edges are set, but middles are still soft, 13 to 15 minutes.
