Steps:

  • The first thing to do to fry an egg in the microwave is to break the egg and carefully put it in a bowl taking care as not to break it; the bowl or cup should have a slightly large base so that the fried egg takes the shape you want.Add a little salt so that the fried egg has a little more flavor.
  • Put the bowl with the egg in the microwave for 40 seconds, on medium power and keep on checking that the egg is cooking properly. To check that the egg is well cooked you can pinch the fried egg and if the fork comes out clean it is done; otherwise, keep cooking it in the microwave at 5 second intervals.
  • After these 40 or 50 seconds you will have a perfectly fried egg from your microwave, there's no mess and it's very healthy as it's not fried in oil. To take it out of the bowl you can use a spoon underneath the egg with a little bit of black pepper or butter.
  • Cooking fried eggs in the microwave is healthier as you are not using lots of oil that increases cholesterol and triglyceride levels and it's also much easier and faster! 2 eggs (or 4 egg whites)
2 tbsp (30 mL) milk or water
⅛ tsp (0.5 mL) salt
¼ cup (50 mL) of your favorite stir-ins (see Cook’s Tip)
1 tbsp (15 mL) grated cheese of your choice

Steps:

  • Place the eggs, water, and salt in the Ceramic Egg Cooker. Top with the lid and cover the vent hole with a finger and shake ten times to combine.Stir in the remaining ingredients.Cover and microwave on HIGH for 1 minute and then stir around the edges and bottom of the cooker. Continue to cook in 20 second intervals until the eggs are cooked through on the sides and bottom. Either eat directly from the cooker or run the releasing end of the Cake Tester & Releaser around the outer edges and invert onto a plate.
