How to Make Grass Jelly Tea

Dried mesona chinensis 2 ounces
Brown sugar 3 tablespoons

Steps:

  • Wash and strain mesona leaves well.
  • Add leaves and 20 cups of water into a pot and bring it to a boil.
  • Let boil for 10 minutes and remove impurities from the surface.
  • Bring heat down to medium and simmer for at least 2 hours, ideally 4 hours. Continue to remove impurities and add 2 cups of water at a time if it’s looking dried down.
  • Strain out the leaves well. You should end up with about 40 or more ounces of juice. If there’s less, add a bit more filtered water to avoid bitterness.
  • Add brown sugar.
  • Enjoy hot or cold!

7 Tbsp tea grounds
800 mL water
1 cup tapioca pearls
1/2 cup water
? cup brown sugar
? can grass jelly
100 mL heavy cream
50 mL milk
2 oz cream cheese
2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 Tbsp condensed milk (add more if you like more sweet)
3-5 Tbsp evaporated milk

Steps:

  • Boil your water
  • Then, add in your tea grounds and mix
  • close the lid and boil for 5-10 minutes in low heat
  • strain your tea
  • Use a spoon to get every last drop from the grounds
  • Set the tea aside for later
  • In a small pot boil your water
  • Once water is boiled, add in your brown sugar and mix
  • Then pour in your tapioca pearls and mix until they start floating
  • Next, close the lid and let them boil for 3 minutes in low heat
  • Finally, turn off the stove and set it aside for later
  • Open your can and split it into 6ths
  • Take 1 sixth and cut it up into small pieces
  • Use hand mixer to whip your heavy cream until it thickens
  • Mix your cream cheese (microwave for 10 sec to soften it up) and sugar
  • Once smooth pour in your milk and salt and mix it up
  • Then, add in your heavy cream and mix well
  • Now that your milk cap is done refrigerate it until needed later
  • 1st, put in your boba and grass jelly (careful it might be a bit sticky)
  • 2nd, add in your condensed milk and hot Thai tea until your cup is about halfway full and mix well
  • 3rd, add some crushed ice until the cup is about ¾ of the way full
  • 4th, add in your evaporated milk
  • 5th, fill the rest of the cup with the milk cap
  • Finally, pop in a straw and enjoy!
