Maple Mustard Sauce – Our Southern Odyssey image

We have came up with a recipe that is just as delicious as honey mustard but without the honey. Instead of using honey as the sweetener we use maple syrup. The great thing about maple syrup is that it has a smoky flavor that really elevates our Maple Mustard Sauce.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 teaspoon Organic Parsley
1/2 teaspoon Tellicherry Black Pepper
1/4 teaspoon Himalayan Pink Salt
1/2 teaspoon Organic Lemon Juice
1/2 teaspoon Apple Cider Vinegar
1 Tablespoon Extra Virgin Organic Olive Oil
2 Tablespoons Mayo - We use Primal Kitchen
3 Tablespoons Organic Maple Syrup
3 Tablespoons Organic Stone Ground Brown Mustard - We use Eden

Steps:

  • Take a mixing bowl and add all the ingredients to the bowl
  • Mix all the ingredients together with a whisk
  • Place the Maple Mustard Sauce in the refrigerator for twenty (20) minutes, to allow the ingredients to blend together.
  • Serve over a bed of mixed greens with baked chicken tenders or use as a dip for chicken or vegetables.
  • Extra sauce can be refrigerated for about one (1) week.
  • Enjoy!

½ cup creamy salad dressing (such as Miracle Whip®)
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons maple mustard
1?½ teaspoons apple cider vinegar
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon ground paprika
? teaspoon salt
1 pinch ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Add creamy dressing, honey, maple mustard, vinegar, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to a measuring cup; mix until fully combined.

  • Baking Soda Bath½ cup baking soda9 cups waterWhisk the yeast into warm water. Allow to sit for 1 minute. Whisk in salt, sugar, and melted butter. Slowly add 3 cups of flour, 1 cup at a time. Mix, then add 3/4 cup more flour until the dough is no longer sticky. If it is still sticky, add 1/4 - 1/2 cup more, as needed. Knead the dough for 3 minutes and shape into a ball. Cover and allow to rest for 10 minutes.Preheat oven to 400°F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats. Set aside. Cut dough into 1/3 cup sections.Roll the dough into a 22 inch rope. Take the ends and draw them together so the dough forms a circle. Twist the ends, then bring them towards yourself and press them down into a pretzel shape.Bring baking soda and 9 cups of water to a boil in a large pot. Drop 1-2 pretzels into the boiling water for 20-30 seconds. Any more than that and your pretzels will have a metallic taste.
