Ingredients

1 cup chicken broth
1 cup shredded cabbage
1 cup chopped carrot
4 potatoes, cubed
½ onion, chopped
1 (15 ounce) can green beans
¼ cup chopped green bell pepper
1 cup tomato juice
3 cloves garlic, minced
½ teaspoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon dried basil
½ teaspoon Italian-style seasoning
1 cup cooked and cubed chicken
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

In a large pot over high heat, combine the chicken broth, cabbage, carrots, potatoes, onion, green beans, green bell pepper, tomato juice, garlic, oregano, basil and Italian-style seasoning.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 hour, or until all vegetables are tender.
Add the chicken and simmer for 15 more minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Ingredients

1 cup white sugar
½ cup butter
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 ¾ teaspoons baking powder
¾ cup milk
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Steps:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
Beat sugar and butter together in a mixing bowl using an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract.
Sift flour and baking powder together in a separate bowl; add to creamed mixture. Pour in milk, lemon zest, and lemon juice and mix until you achieve a smooth batter. Spoon batter into the prepared pan.
Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 35 minutes.
