LOADED MASHED POTATOES WITH BACON RECIPE | ALLRECIPES
Mashed potatoes that could be a meal. Hardy, filling, and savory. I started making mashed potatoes this way mainly for my daughter who loves loaded baked potatoes. The first time I tried this was because we were having company for dinner and I was running low on potatoes. It was the hit of the dinner. About a year after I started making them this way, we went to a restaurant that had a similar offering. My daughter said mine was still better.

LOADED THANKSGIVING MASHED POTATOES RECIPE - FOOD.COM
A friend brought over a pan of these, along with some meatballs & gravy, when we came home from the hospital with our second son who was born on Thanksgiving Day (1991). Since then these have become a "tradition" at our Thanksgiving feast. The great thing about these potatoes is that they can be made as much as a week ahead of time, then just need to be popped in the oven or microwave to be zapped at the last minute (while the turkey is "resting" and being carved). You can work on the gravy--and NOT worry about also mashing the spuds!!!

LOADED MASHED POTATOES RECIPE | MYRECIPES
How do you make mashed potatoes better? Load them up with classic baked potato toppings. These mashed potatoes are creamy and light, but filled with flavor. The sour cream gives the potatoes just the right amount of tang, and the cheese is melted to perfection. These potatoes make a perfect side dish for steak, a slow cooked roast, or any other indulgent main. Using cold butter allows for a better distribution of the fat and milk solids into the potatoes, while slowly adding butter keeps the potatoes fluffy.
