We wanted pizza and I wanted something a little different than just pepperoni, so I peeked in the freezer and cupboard and this is what we ended up with and can I say what a combo! Delicious! YUM. It is even good cold the next day!!

Number Of Ingredients 18

3/4 cup(s) water, warm
1 - active dry yeast envelope
2 cup(s) all purpose flour
1 teaspoon(s) sugar
3/4 teaspoon(s) salt
2 teaspoon(s) thyme, dried
2 teaspoon(s) basil, dried
2 teaspoon(s) oregano, dried
1/4 teaspoon(s) onion powder
1/4 teaspoon(s) black pepper
3 tablespoon(s) olive oil
TOPPINGS
1 - linguica link ready to eat, diced
25 slice(s) salami
1 small can sliced olives
1/4 cup(s) red onion, diced
1 cup(s) mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 cup(s) pasta sauce, your favorite

Steps:

  • Pour 3/4 cup warm water into small bowl. Stir in yeast. Let stand until yeast dissolves, about 5 minutes.
  • Brush large bowl lightly with olive oil. Mix 2 cups flour, sugar,salt and herbs together (perfect if you have a food processor). Add yeast mixture and 3 tablespoons oil; mix or process until dough forms a sticky ball. Transfer to lightly floured surface.
  • Knead dough until smooth, adding more flour by tablespoonfuls if dough is very sticky, about 1 minute. Transfer to prepared bowl; turn dough in bowl to coat with oil. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and let dough rise in warm draft-free area until doubled in volume, about 1 hour.
  • Punch down dough. Roll out dough to approx 14 inches on a lightly oiled pizza stone or cookie sheet (Start in center of dough, working outward toward edges but not rolling over them.)
  • Spread pasta sauce, mozzarella cheese (minus 1 handful), salami, Linguica, olives and onions. Top with extra handful of Mozzarella.
  • Bake at 400° for 15-20 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Let cool 5 minutes before serving.
