Recipe of Homemade Lebanese Coffee

Number Of Ingredients 2

2 cups water
6 teaspoons Turkish coffee powder rounded

Steps:

  • Boil the water in a coffee pot.
  • Remove from heat, add the Turkish coffee powder and stir.
  • Put the coffee pot back over heat and leave to boil making sure that the coffee doesn’t spill out of the pot. To prevent spilling, move away the pot from the heat every time the coffee starts rising then place it back over the heat.
  • After about 30 seconds of boiling, remove from heat, cover the pot and leave it aside for 1 min while the coffee grounds settle at the bottom of the pot.
  • Serve in small coffee cups.

500 ml boiling water
1-2 teaspoons sugar (optional)
2 tablespoons ground Arabic coffee (from a dark or semi-dark Arabian or Ethiopian Mocca bean)
Seeds of 2 cardamom pods

Steps:

  • Add the boiling water to a coffee cooking pot, leaving 1 cm on top. Stir in the sugar, the coffee and the cardamom seeds. Let brew on low to medium heat until it starts boiling and foaming. When it starts rising to the top, remove from stove and let foam settle to avoid over boiling.
  • Return pot to the stove and allow to reach a boil and a foam again as in the first stage. Repeat procedure once or twice.
  • Let rest for a minute before serving.
