Cheeseburger Pizza Recipe | Food Network Kitchen | Food ... image

As in a classic diner cheeseburger, mustard tops the ground beef in this pizza, which bubbles with melted American cheese, fresh red onion and dill pickles. Serve it with shredded lettuce on the side to complete the burger experience and make this a "one-crust" meal that comes to the table in an hour flat.

Total Time 45 minutes

Cook Time 25 minutes

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 11

12 ounces ground beef
1 tablespoon yellow mustard, plus more for serving
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
All-purpose flour, for dusting
1 pound refrigerated pizza dough
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 teaspoons sesame seeds
2 cups shredded American cheese (about 8 ounces)1/4 whole dill pickle, sliced into thin rounds
1/4 small red onion, finely diced, then rinsed and drained
Ketchup, for serving
Shredded lettuce, for serving, optional

Steps:

  • Place a baking stone or inverted large baking sheet on the lowest rack of the oven and preheat to 450 degrees F.
  • Cook the beef in a medium skillet over medium heat just until no longer pink, about 4 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the beef to paper towels to drain and let cool 5 minutes. Put the cooled beef in a bowl, stir in the mustard to coat and sprinkle with some salt and pepper.
  • Dust a sheet of parchment paper set on a pizza peel or inverted baking sheet with some flour. Stretch the pizza dough into a round (12 inches for thick or 14 inches for thinner) on the parchment and brush the edge of the round with the oil, then sprinkle it with the sesame seeds. Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups cheese evenly over the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border. Top with the beef, then sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup cheese over the beef.
  • Slide the pizza off the parchment onto the hot stone or baking sheet and bake until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling, about 15 minutes. Transfer to a cutting board, arrange the pickle slices evenly over the pizza then sprinkle with the onions. Drizzle mustard and ketchup over the pizza and serve while hot with shredded lettuce on the side.

CLASSIC CUBAN MIDNIGHT (MEDIANOCHE) SANDWICH RECIP…

Classic Cuban Midnight (Medianoche) Sandwich Recip… image

This is one of the more famous sandwiches straight out of the island of Cuba. This recipe came from my uncle who used to work at a restaurant in Pinar del Rio, Cuba and now works at a Cuban cafeteria here in Miami. This sandwich is best served with fried plantain chips and a cold mamey milkshake!

Provided by Pretty Pink Bullets

Categories     Caribbean Recipes

Total Time 23 minutes

Prep Time 15 minutes

Cook Time 8 minutes

Yield 4 sandwiches

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 sweet bread rolls
½ cup mayonnaise
¼ cup prepared mustard
1 pound thinly sliced cooked ham
1 pound thinly sliced fully cooked pork
1 pound sliced Swiss cheese
1 cup dill pickle slices
2 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • Split the sandwich rolls in half, and spread mustard and mayonnaise liberally onto the cut sides. On each sandwich, place and equal amount of Swiss cheese, ham and pork in exactly that order. Place a few pickles onto each one, and put the top of the roll onto the sandwich. Brush the tops with melted butter.
  • Press each sandwich in a sandwich press heated to medium-high heat. If a sandwich press is not available, use a large skillet over medium-high heat, and press the sandwiches down using a sturdy plate or skillet. Some indoor grills may be good for this also. Cook for 5 to 8 minutes, keeping sandwiches pressed. If using a skillet, you may want to flip them once for even browning. Slice diagonally and serve hot.

REFRIGERATOR KOSHER DILL PICKLES RECIPE - FOOD.COM
refrigerator kosher dill pickles recipe - food.com image
I've used this dill pickle recipe as long as I've grown cucumbers. It's easy to make and the pickles taste amazing. I make these in small batches every couple of days as the cucumbers in my garden get big enough to use. They keep for around 6 month in the refrigerator if you don't eat them first.

KOSHER DILL PICKLES RECIPE - FOOD.COM
From an old Better Homes and Gardens Home Canning Cookbook. I've been making these pickles for over 20 years now, and the key is getting the pickles from vine to jar ASAP-- no more than a week, and store in the fridge. Smaller pickles tend to stay crisper than larger ones, whole more than slices or spears.

QUICK AND EASY REFRIGERATOR PICKLES - ONCE UPON A CHEF
Jul 30, 2020 · Hi Jenn, we made the refrigerator pickles with no salt, and they still taste delicious! The differences we noticed are: 1) it has taken the pickles much longer to turn into dill pickles… about 4-5 days rather than 24 hours; and 2) the intensity of the flavour is just a bit less… so next time we make them, we may add a few more red pepper flakes~ Again, thanks so much for this recipe!
