Prep Time 20 minutes

Cook Time 35 minutes

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 1

1 whole pork trotters/feet (long form with hock, about 2 lbs)7 large-sized jalapeno peppers, diced (about 2 cups)1 medium-sized yellow onion, diced (about 1 cup)3 cloves garlic, finely chopped (about 1 Tbsp)1 Tbsp fresh ginger root, finely chopped3 Tbsp soy sauce1 tsp fish sauce1 tsp ground black pepper2 Tbsp red chili pepper powder (gochugaru)½ tsp salt2 Tbsp olive oil1 tsp sesame oil1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)

Steps:

  • Remove any hair on the pig trotter(s) if necessary by carefully scraping the sharp edge of your kitchen knife along the skin of the pork trotter(s) or by using a razor. Rinse pork trotters off really well with cool water and drain.
  • Separate the skin/meat from the bone as much as possible. Chop the skin/meat into about 1-inch pieces.
  • Put a medium-sized pan with a tablespoon of oil on low heat. Put the trotter bone in the pan. Cover the pan and allow to cook covered for about 20 minutes.
  • Uncover the pan after 20 minutes, and turn the stove up to medium-high heat. Add another tablespoon of oil to the same pan with the pork trotter bone(s). Add the chopped skin/meat to the pan and stir fry for about 3-4 minutes. Then cover the pan, and allow to continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes.
  • Next, remove the cover/lid again. Add in the jalapeno peppers, onions, ginger and garlic, and stir fry for another 4 minutes.
  • Now, turn the heat down to low, add the remaining ingredients (soy sauce, fish sauce, ground black pepper, red chili pepper powder, salt) to the pan and continue stir-frying for another 2-3 minutes. Turn off the stove and remove the pan from heat. Drizzle sesame oil over the top and mix well. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  • Enjoy!

SPICY KOREAN BBQ-STYLE PORK RECIPE BY TASTY

Spicy Korean BBQ-style Pork Recipe by Tasty image

Here's what you need: boneless pork shoulder, onion, green onion, garlic, ginger, korean red chili paste, red pepper flakes, soy sauce, rice wine, sesame oil, sugar, black pepper, canola oil, sesame seed, rice

Provided by Alvin Zhou

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 15

1 ½ lb boneless pork shoulder, or pork belly, chilled or frozen for easier slicing
½ onion, sliced into thin strips
3 stalks green onion, sliced into 2-inch (5 cm) pieces
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ginger, minced
¼ cup korean red chili paste, gochujang
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
¼ cup soy sauce
3 tablespoons rice wine
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon canola oil
sesame seed, to garnish
rice, to serve

Steps:

  • Slice the pork into extremely thin slices, then transfer to a large bowl. This works best when the pork is super cold or partially frozen.
  • Add in all of the ingredients besides the canola oil, then mix until the pork and the vegetables are evenly coated with the marinade.
  • Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • Heat the oil in a pan over high heat, add pork, being sure not to crowd the pan, stir-fry the pork in batches until slightly crispy on the edges, about 3-4 minutes. If you’re using pork belly, cook for a bit longer, around 6-7 minutes.
  • Sprinkle a bit of sesame seeds on top, then serve with rice!
  • Enjoy!
