This rich chocolate cake is very easy to make.

Yield 1 - 9x13 inch cake

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 (5 ounce) package non-instant chocolate pudding mix
2?? cups milk
1 (18.25 ounce) package chocolate cake mix
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease one 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
  • Combine chocolate pudding and milk in a saucepan and cook over medium heat until thick, stirring frequently.
  • Remove pan from heat and add in dry cake mix. Mix together and pour into the lightly greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Evenly spread the chocolate chips over the top of the cake.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F(175 degrees C) for 40 to 45 minutes. Let cake cool and serve.

This is the first recipe I'm sharing with all of you. It is Tried and True for sure. I'v given this cake to many people as a gift and they all ask for the recipe. I found this recipe in a novel called "Promises To Keep" by Karen Harper. There was a recipe at the start of each chapter. It was good story but an even better cook book. This cakes is sweet, moist and good for dessert or as a breakfast cake. Enjoy

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 1/4 cup(s) all purpose flour
1 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
3 - eggs
2 cup(s) sugar
1 1/2 cup(s) vegetable oil
3 cup(s) pared chopped apples
2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
1 cup(s) chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Prepare Tube Pan (I use a Bunt Pan) by greasing and flouring.
  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Sift dry ingredients of four, cinnamon, baking soda and salt
  • In a separate bowl beat the eggs and then add the sugar and oil. Beat until light
  • add sifted ingredients to the wet ingredients a third at a time until incorporated. It will be very thick (almost like cookie dough)
  • Add the apples and walnuts and vanilla
  • Pour into the pan and bake for 1 hour and 15 min. check for doneness after one hour by inserting knife in center. If it comes out clean it's done. Oven's vary. Mine was done in 1 hour 15 min.
  • If you wish, make a glaze to dribble on top by combining 1 cup packed brown sugar, 1/4 milk , and 1/2 cup butter. Combine in a sauce pan and, stirring, let boil 2 to 3 min. Beat to desired thickness and pour over the cake. I just beat it with a wire wisk and let it cool a little before I pour it over the cake. It's good without it too.

Preheat oven to 180c. Soften the onions and mushrooms in a frying pan in the oil, add marmite and salt and pepper. Roast the butternut squash and the sweet potato until tender.
