While the Instant Pot method is best for steel-cut or longer cooking oats, you can use it to make a huge batch of oatmeal in a fraction of the time. Cinnamon and brown sugar are all you really need here to accent the creamy texture.

Total Time 15 minutes

Yield Serves 2 (serving size: about 3/4 cup)

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 cups water
1 cup uncooked old-fashioned rolled oats or steel-cut oats
2 tablespoons brown sugar
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
? teaspoon table salt
Fresh fruit and toasted nuts, optional

Steps:

  • Stir together all ingredients in the Instant Pot; secure the lid. Set to high pressure for 5 minutes (Instant Pot will take about 5 minutes to build pressure before counting down). 
  • Follow manufacturer’s instructions for manual release. Using a rubber spatula, gently stir, scraping any oatmeal beginning to stick to the pot. Top with fresh fruit and nuts, if desired.

One of our family's favorite breakfasts is this very simple Apple Cinnamon Rolled Oats. My kids love it, its super healthy, and it is unbelievably simple to make. I simply throw all of the ingredients into our Instant Pot, push a button, and walk away! I have even set the timer the night before, so it's ready when we get up.

Cook Time 20 minutes

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 cups rolled oats (use gluten free if needed)
4 cups Water
1 apple (cored and diced)
cinnamon (to taste)

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in the Instant Pot and stir to combine.
  • Close and lock the lid. Use the "Rice" function to cook the oatmeal. When time is up, quick release the pressure.
  • Serve and Enjoy!
