Number Of Ingredients 3

1 1/2 tablespoons butter
2 slices white bread
1/2 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Melt 1 tbsp butter in a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat. Place both slices of bread in the melted butter.
  • Top one slice with 6 tbsp of grated cheese and flip the second slice on top. Immediately top with 1 tbsp grated cheese. Add remaining butter to empty side of pan. When butter has melted, flip sandwich cheese side down in the melted butter. Top with remaining cheese.
  • When the first side is browned and crispy, 3-4 minutes, flip the sandwich. Cook until the second side is also crispy and brown, 2-3 minutes.
  • Cool 3-4 minutes, cut in half and serve.

Inside Out Grilled Cheese – Recipe Champions image

Yield 2 sandwiches

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
8 slices American cheese
6 strips bacon
2 slices thick cut bread (toasted)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375ºF.
  • Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Evenly lay down the 6 strips of bacon. Cook the bacon in the oven for 10 minutes.
  • After the bacon has been cooking for 10 minutes, flip the strips, and carefully extract the grease from the tray. Put the bacon back in the oven for an additional 5 minutes. Remove the strips from the tray, cut each one in half and set aside.
  • Add one cup of shredded mozzarella cheese to a medium high frying pan. Add 2 slices of American cheese to the center of the mozzarella.
  • When the American cheese starts to melt (about 5 minutes), add 3 strips of bacon and a slice of bread. To the top of the bread, add 2 more slices of American cheese, and 3 more strips of bacon.
  • When the exterior of the mozzarella cheese is browned and crispy around the edges, carefully fold each side over one another and over the bacon creating a pocket around the bread.
  • Carefully flip the whole grilled cheese and fry the seam side for 1 minute. Set aside and cut in half. Repeat for second serving.
