Number Of Ingredients 10

1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
1 cup sour cream
5 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup mint or semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Combine the egg, sour cream, butter and vanilla. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in chocolate chips. , Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups three-fourths full. Bake at 350° for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack.

I've tried biscuit recipes for most of my life. Some work, some don't. Some are ok, but this one is GOOD. And it's an easy NO-FAIL recipe. I haven't even tried another one in years. I've been making these for a very long time now, and cannot remember where it came from. :/ But if you love homemade biscuits and have never had very good luck with them, this one will make you smile and feel proud! Bake in hot, preheated 425 oven for 12-15 minutes (ovens vary) or til golden brown on top. Remove from oven and butter tops again with other half of butter. Serve warm with more butter and homemade jam or honey. Makes 8 tall sour cream biscuits.
