Total Time 35 minutes

Prep Time 10 minutes

Cook Time 25 minutes

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 c.

all-purpose flour

2 c.

panko breadcrumbs

3

large eggs, beaten

1

head cauliflower, chopped into bite-size florets

1/3 c.

honey

1/3 c.

soy sauce

2

garlic cloves, minced

Juice of 1 lime

1 tbsp.

sriracha

1/4 c.

water

2 tsp.

corn starch

1/4 c.

Sliced scallions

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400° and line a large baking sheet with foil. In a large bowl, combine flour and cauliflower, toss until fully coated. Set up a dredging station: In one bowl, add panko breadcrumbs and in another bowl whisk eggs and add 2 tablespoons water. Dip cauliflower in beaten eggs, then panko until fully coated. Transfer to a prepared baking sheet and season generously with salt and pepper. Bake until golden and crispy, 20 to 25 minutes. Meanwhile, make sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water, until the cornstarch dissolves completely. Set aside. Combine soy sauce, honey, garlic, lime juice and Sriracha in a small saucepan over medium heat. When the mixture reaches a boil, reduce heat and add the cornstarch mixture. Bring to simmer again and cook until sauce thickens, about 2 minutes. Toss cooked cauliflower in sauce until evenly coated. Return the cauliflower to baking sheet and broil for 2 minutes. Garnish with scallions and serve immediately.

  • Line an 8x8 pan with parchment paper. It doesn’t need to sit neatly in the pan, since the honeycomb will weigh it down later. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, add sugar and give it a shake so it lays flat in the pan. Add corn syrup, honey, and water, so all of the sugar has been moistened, but do not stir. Turn the heat to medium high, and watch closely as the sugar starts to dissolve and the ingredients start to meld together. Cook the mixture to 300ºF, which should take about 5–10 minutes depending on the strength of your stove, then remove the pan from the heat. Whisk in the baking soda for about 5 seconds, and once it has stopped foaming up, immediately pour the mixture onto the parchment paper. Let cool for 1 hour until hardened, then whack the honeycomb with a knife to break into pieces.Immediately store any uneaten honeycomb in an airtight container, otherwise it will absorb moisture from the air and soften. Enjoy! Note: Honeycomb will keep for 3–4 days at room temperature in an airtight container.

  • Remove the brie from the refrigerator. Remove any paper wrapping and return the wheel to the bottom part of it’s wooden box or place it on a small square of parchment paper (that is slightly larger than the brie wheel itself). Make very shallow slits across the top of the brie, just through the rind layer, every ½-inch to 1-inch, in a criss-cross pattern. Let rest at room temperature for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the brie on a small sheet tray. Sprinkle the top with the fresh thyme and rosemary, and drizzle with honey. Bake for 20 – 25 minutes, until very soft. Carefully transfer the brie, in the box or on the sheet of parchment paper, to a serving plate. Serve warm alongside toasted bread, apple slices and/or grapes, for serving.

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the butter, water, sugar and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally to melt the butter. Remove from heat and stir in the flour. Return the mixture to medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until it pulls away from the sides of the pan and forms a ball of dough, 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer the hot mixture to a large bowl. Using an electric mixer on low speed, beat for 1 minute to cool slightly. Beat in the eggs one at a time (the dough will be smooth and shiny). Transfer the mixture to a pastry bag fitted with a large star tip. Heat 2-inches oil in a medium pot to 350 degrees F. In a microwave-safe measuring cup or bowl, combine the honey, orange blossom water and cardamom. Microwave on high for 30 seconds; transfer to a large bowl. Working in 4 batches, squeeze 1-inch-long pieces of dough into the oil, using a knife or scissors to help cut them off. Fry until puffed and golden brown, 4 to 5 minutes. Transfer to a baking rack to cool; repeat with the remaining dough. Once the honey bites have cooled, transfer to the bowl with the syrup and toss to coat.
