Make this easy sirloin steak recipe in less than an hour and serve the best juicy and tender sirloin steak at your dinner table.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 (10½ ounce each) sirloin steaks
1½ tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp ground black pepper
3 with the skins on, bruised garlic cloves
3 twigs fresh, or rosemary thyme
2 tbsp unsalted butter
and accompaniments, of your choice sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 275 degrees F and grease a roasting tray.
  • Season the sirloin steaks with salt and pepper and rub with olive oil to add flavor. Transfer the steaks to a roasting pan.
  • Add the garlic and herb twigs, and cover the entire roasting tray with foil.
  • Roast the steaks for 30 to 35 minutes, depending on how you like them.
  • Towards the last 10 minutes of cooking, remove the foil and set aside.
  • Add the butter and spread around the roasting tray until melted.
  • Baste the steak with its own roasting juices combined with the melted butter.
  • Set the top heat only to 400 degrees F and broil the steaks until caramelized.
  • Set aside the cooked steak for at least 10 minutes to rest.
  • Peel off the garlic to be placed on top of the steaks for serving.
  • Serve it as is or with any sauce and accompaniments, either whole or sliced, and enjoy!

Luckily, there is one simple ingredient you have in your pantry that will turn even the cheapest cuts into tender, juicy steaks the whole family will love!

2 lbs petite sirloin steak
2 tbsp kosher salt

Steps:

  • To properly tenderize a steak, lay the steak out on a plate and cover each side with approximately 1 teaspoon of kosher/sea salt before cooking. Use your fingers to gently work the salt granules into the surface, breaking down the fibers of the meat. (For even more flavor, add crushed garlic to the salt.)
  • Let the steak sit with this covering of salt for 45 minutes to an hour. Longer for thicker cuts.
  • After the waiting period, rinse the salt off your steaks under cool running water.
  • Use some paper towels to pat your steaks until they are good and dry, so you can get the delicious, crispy sear you want. If you don’t pat them dry, you’re basically steaming the meat, and steamed meat is bland and less flavorful.
  • Season as desired, then grill until desired doneness. Serve and sit back and enjoy the happy faces around the dinner table. :-)
