Yield 1

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 tablespoon(s) bacon drippings or butter
2 tablespoon(s) flour
1 1/4 cup(s) milk - more to thin if needed
Fresh - cracked black pepper - i use 6 - 7 turns of the pepper mill
Kosher - salt to taste ( i use about 1/2 tsp )

Steps:

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, heat bacon fat or melt butter to bubbling. Once bubbling, whisk in flour and continue cooking and whisking for 1 - 2 minutes, watch not to burn. Whisk in the milk and continue stirring as mixture comes to a boil and thickens. Season to taste with pepper and salt. If preparing ahead, may need to thin out with a bit more milk. It's a great gravy for adding sausage or chipped beef to serve over biscuits or toast.
