Total Time 60 minutes

Prep Time 10 minutes

Cook Time 30 minutes

Yield 10

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 Chocolate cake
6 cups Buttercream frosting (Colored white, neon pink, yellow, blue and green colors)
1/2 cup Red m&m candies

Steps:

  • Bake cake in the ugly sweater cake pan.Let it cool down and to room temperature. Then, place it on a large serving plate.
  • Use a spatula to frost your cake in white buttercream icing. Don't worry about frosting it neatly. This needs to be a crumb coat.
  • Fill 4 piping bags with 4 different colored icings and attach Tip#12.
  • Start piping an inverted/upside down "6" all over the cake, as shown by the arrows.Fill all empty space by piping random lines or squiggles.
  • For the sides, just randomly squeeze your piping bags in an angle and let the icing flow.It will look really messy but don't worry. It will get cleaned up at the end.
  • Now, position your toothpick in the center of each "6" and drag it out, as shown by the arrows. Do this for all the "6" shapes you made.
  • For the sides, drag your toothpick right and left randomly until you are happy with the design.
  • Use moist paper towels to wipe off all that messy icing around your cake.
  • Arrange some red m&m candies along the sleeves and the neck line.
  • Toss some colorful sprinkles around the base of your tie dye shirt cake. Enjoy!

TIE DYE POKE CAKE RECIPE - BETTYCROCKER.COM

Tie Dye Poke Cake Recipe - BettyCrocker.com image

Looking for a dessert using Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ white cake mix, vanilla frosting and decorating gel? Then check out this delicious poke cake recipe.

Provided by Betty Crocker Kitchens

Total Time 2 hours 30 minutes

Prep Time 35 minutes

Yield 15

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ white cake mix
Water, vegetable oil and egg whites called for on cake mix box
1 cup boiling water
3 tablespoons each Jell-O™ strawberry-flavored, lime-flavored and berry blue-flavored gelatin (from 4-serving-size boxes)
1 container Betty Crocker™ Whipped vanilla frosting
4 tubes (0.68 oz each) Betty Crocker™ decorating gel (pink, green, orange and blue)
1 box (17.6 oz) neon fondant

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Spray bottom only of 13x9-inch pan with baking spray with flour. Make and bake cake mix as directed on box for 13x9-inch pan, using water, oil and egg whites. Cool in pan on cooling rack 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in 3 separate bowls, pour 1/3 cup of the boiling water over each flavored gelatin; stir until gelatin is dissolved. Poke warm cake every inch with wooden skewer halfway into cake, twisting skewer back and forth. Pour each color gelatin randomly over cake, allowing gelatin to fill in holes. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
  • Frost cake. With decorating gels, draw vertical lines 1/4 inch apart on frosting, alternating colors. Pull fine-tip paintbrush in straight line across all colors. Repeat, working back and forth from one side of cake to the other to create a tie-dye effect.
  • Roll fondant to 1/8-inch thickness; cut into rounds and flower shapes. Insert toothpicks halfway into cutouts; decorate cake slices as desired.

TIE-DYE BUTTER COOKIES RECIPE | BON APPÉTIT
Did you hear? Tie-dye is back. But now it’s not just that grimy T-shirt your friend who still follows Phish will never wash. It’s couture. And thanks to Rick Martinez’s so-very-2020 natural-dye Swirl-n-Dip method, it’s also edible. Best of all? The butter cookie that acts as your canvas is extremely simple to make (like, six ingredients simple), so you can spend most of your time on the fun part: unleashing your inner artiste. When you’re decorating, no need to panic if your first attempts don’t work out. Simply wipe off the failed glaze, let the cookie dry for about five minutes, and try again.

  • *Cooks Note: If you want to use regular liquid food coloring, whisk 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 Tbsp. milk, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl until no lumps remain. Add food coloring drop by drop, stirring to incorporate, then thin glaze if needed with 1 tsp. milk at a time until it reaches the consistency of heavy cream.
