3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 large egg
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour*
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts
1 bag (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips (2 cups)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F.
  • In large bowl, beat sugars, butter, vanilla and egg with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt (dough will be stiff). Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
  • On ungreased cookie sheet, drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown (centers will be soft). Cool 1 to 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.

1 box (4-serving size) French vanilla instant pudding and pie filling mix
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 bag (11.5 oz) semisweet chocolate chunks (2 cups)
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in pudding mix. On low speed, beat in eggs and vanilla. Gradually beat in flour and baking soda. Stir in chocolate chunks and nuts. Onto ungreased cookie sheet, drop dough by 2 tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart.
  • Bake 14 to 16 minutes or just until edges are golden brown. Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack.
