Lime wedges
sugar
kosher salt
Crushed ice
Lime margarita mix
tequila
triple sec
diced ripe mango
Fresh or frozen hulled strawberries

Steps:

  • Lime Margaritas: Fill a blender with crushed ice, lime margarita mix (or fresh lime juice sweetened with agave nectar), tequila, and triple sec and blend until slushy and smooth. Pour into prepared glasses.
  • Mango Margaritas: Make lime margaritas as directed, and add diced ripe mango to the blender. Blend until slushy and smooth.
  • Strawberry Margaritas: Make lime margaritas as directed, and add fresh or frozen hulled strawberries to the blender. Blend until slushy and smooth.

Number Of Ingredients 11

Ice cubes
3 ounces tequila
2 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice
1 ounce Simple Syrup, recipe follows
1/2 to 1 teaspoon orange liqueur
1 tablespoon Lime-salt-sugar, recipe follows
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
Zest of one lime
2 tablespoons kosher salt
2 tablespoons sugar

Steps:

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add tequila, lime juice, Simple Syrup and orange liqueur. Cover and shake until mixed and chilled, about 30 seconds. (In general, the drink is ready by the time the shaker mists up.) Place Lime-salt-sugar on a plate. Press the rim of a chilled rocks or wine glass into the mixture to rim the edge. Strain margarita into the glass. 
  • Put the sugar and water in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. (Alternatively, heat in the microwave.) Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 1 month. 
  • Blend together lime, salt and sugar in a small blender or mini food chopper.

  • 1. Add the fresh orange juice, lime juice, and sugar into a blender.  2. Add ice and blend until slushy on the crushed ice setting. Pour into a serving pitcher.  3. Add salt to a flat dish. Rub a cut lime or lemon around the rim of each glass. Place the rim of each glass into the salt and swirl it to cover the rim.  4. Stand the glass up again and pour in the margaritas. Serve immediately and enjoy! Note: If you are serving children, you may want to omit the salt rim from their glasses, as it is more of an adult taste. Variation: Substitute 1 cup fresh pink grapefruit juice and 1/3 cup fresh tangerine juice for the orange juice and lime juice. Fantastico!
