8 cups shredded cabbage (raw)
1 cup shredded carrots (raw)
1 lb. fresh shrimp, diced
2 1/2 tbsp onion, diced
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 1/2 tsp sesame oil
1 egg, beaten
1 pkg egg roll wrappers
oil for frying

Steps:

  • Shred the cabbage and carrots in a food processor and place in a large bowl. Add all of the ingredients and mix well.
  • Place 3 tablespoons of the egg roll mixture in the middle of an egg roll wrapper. Place a dab of water on each corner of the egg roll wrapper and start rolling the egg roll by taking the corner that's closest to you and folding over the mixture.
  • Tuck the corner under the mixture and fold the side corners over the egg roll and wrap tightly. See my video for how to roll an egg roll.
  • Put enough oil in a heavy skillet that's deep enough to fry the egg rolls. Heat the oil to 350 degrees and carefully put the egg rolls in the pan. Fry on each side until golden brown and drain on paper towels.

250 grams shrimp
2 pcs Water chestnuts
2 pcs egg
1 piece Seaweed

Steps:

  • The prawns are head and tail removed, shelled, and the intestines are removed and peeled into shrimps; wash and wipe dry with kitchen paper, pat into mud with the back of a knife and chop, add cooking wine, salt, white pepper and mix well
  • Peel the water chestnuts and chop into minced pieces. Add the water chestnuts and dried starch to the prawn paste and mix well. Finally, add a little sesame oil and stir to make shrimp paste
  • Add a little salt to beat the eggs to form a uniform egg mixture. Spread a little oil on the pan, pour in the egg mixture, and bake it into egg skins over low heat.
  • Cut the egg skin to the size of the seaweed. Spread the seaweed on the egg skin and sprinkle a little dry starch. Spread the prepared shrimp paste evenly on top, roll it into long strips, and place it on a flat plate that has been greased with oil. Put it in a steamer and steam for 10 minutes, take it out and let it cool, cut into 1 cm thick slices, and serve on a plate.

  • In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, cornstarch and bouillon granules. Whisk in water and vinegar until smooth. Add the green pepper, pimientos, soy sauce, garlic and ginger.
