Pie Crust Recipe | How to Make Pie Dough By Hand ... image

Easy pie crust recipe from my Grandma's recipe box. You know it's gonna be good!

Provided by Rachel Nielsen

Total Time 25 minutes

Prep Time 15 minutes

Cook Time 10 minutes

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. shortening
1/2 t. salt
1 egg, beaten
1/3 c. water
1 T. vinegar

Steps:

  • Cut fat into sifted flour and salt with a pastry blender
  • Combine egg, vinegar and water and add to flour mixture.  
  • Stir with a wooden spoon just until combined.
  • Knead 4-5 times on a floured surface.
  • Divide dough into three pieces.
  • Roll out each piece about 2 inches bigger than the pie pan.
  • Add to pie pan and crimp edges. For double crust pies add filling before crimping edges.
