2 large onions, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
2 pounds fresh green beans, snapped
Salt to taste

Steps:

  • Cook salt pork in a large Dutch oven over medium heat, stirring frequently, until crisp and browned. Add onion and garlic; saute until tender.
  • Add beans and water to cover; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours or until beans are tender. Add salt.
