Cook Time 0S

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 15

1 lb.

ground turkey

1

large egg, beaten

1 tbsp.

low-sodium soy sauce

1/2

small shallot, minced

2

green onions, thinly sliced

2

cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp.

ground mustard

Kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper

Pinch crushed red pepper flakes

Hamburger buns

Spicy mayonnaise

Butterhead lettuce

Red onion, thinly sliced

Avocado, sliced

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey and remaining ingredients. Season with salt, pepper, and pinch of red pepper flakes and mix until just combined. Form into 4 patties about 3” wide and place on prepared baking sheet. Mixture may be wet and it’s helpful to wet your hands to form into a patty. Once on the baking sheet, you can flatten the patty more.  Bake for 15 minutes until cooked through and internal temperature reaches 165°.  Serve on buns with desired toppings.

This is a simple and delicious recipe. After making them the first time my husband said 'no more' to beef burgers. These are really good - any cooking method may be used, and they freeze very well. The recipe can also be used for meatballs or meat loaves.

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, mayonnaise, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire, seasoned salt, and black pepper.  Mix gently to combine well.  Divide the mixture into 6 even portions (about 6 ounces each).  Pat together into a tight ball, then press into a patty, ¾-inch thick. On the stovetop: Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon vegetable oil and swirl to coat the pan. Place the patties in the skillet and let cook for 5 minutes. Flip and cook the other side until the internal temperature of the turkey burger reaches 165°, about 5 more minutes.  If you like cheese on your burgers, add it during the last minute of cooking, then cover to melt. Alternatively cook on the grill: Preheat your grill over medium-high heat, 400 to 425°. Oil the grill grates. Place the patties on the grill over direct heat. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes per side, covered, or until the internal temperature reads 165°. If you like cheese on your burgers, add during the last minute of cooking, then cover to melt. TASTY TURKEY BURGERS RECIPE - FOOD.COM
My favorite recipe for turkey burgers. Just enough seasonings to make them so much tastier than just plain old turkey burgers, plus the bread crumbs and other added ingredients "bulk up" the turkey, helping you to get more bang for your buck. I always have a few of these in the freezer for summer barbecues when I don't care to eat beef hamburgers (I have been known to tote one or two of these along with me to family barbecues to throw on the grill whenever I know that beef burgers are going to be the only main dish)
