Of this take on a martini, James Bond quipped, “I never have more than one drink before dinner. But I do like that one to be large and very strong and very cold and very well-made.” What he said.

Provided by Chiltern Firehouse, London

Yield Makes 1 Servings

Number Of Ingredients 4

1½ ounces Tanqueray gin
1 ounce vodka
½ ounce Lillet Blanc
1 lemon

Steps:

  • Stir gin, vodka, and Lillet Blanc in an ice-filled mixing glass until very cold, about 30 seconds. Strain cocktail through a Hawthorne strainer or a slotted spoon into a martini glass.
  • Using a small serrated knife, remove a 1" strip of peel from lemon (some white pith is okay); it should be stiff enough to provide some resistance when bent. Twist over drink to express oils; discard. Garnish with a lemon twist.

How long in general have you found that they are good for after opening? Does it make sense to keep them in the fridge to last longer? Anyone with experience or knowledge?
