HOT HONEY APPLE TEA RECIPE - LUZIANNE TEA
Simmered in a slow cooker, this aromatic tea fills the house with comforting scents of fall. Poured into a favorite mug, savor the warm flavors of honey, apples and spices.

- Using a vegetable peeler, remove the zest from one of the lemons in long strips; reserve the rest of the lemon for another use. Use the second lemon to create garnishes of your choice. Set aside. Prepare citrus syrup: Add the lemon zest, honey, and ½ cup water to a small saucepot. Stir. Heat the mixture gently over low heat until the honey melts, about 60 seconds. Set aside to steep for 20 minutes. Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the solids from the liquid, pressing on the solids with the back of a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard solids. In a medium pot, bring the remaining 2 cups water, apple juice, and citrus syrup to a boil. Add the tea bag, remove from heat, cover and allow to steep for 10 minutes. Remove and discard the tea bag. Serve warm in teacups. Garnish with lemon twists, if desired.

DR. PAT'S HOT TODDY COLD REMEDY RECIPE - FOOD.COM
Okay, so our family doctor suggested this instead of prescription cough syrup for relieving the cold symptoms of the ADULTS in our family (he of course, did NOT suggest it as a CURE). He says the whisky helps you sleep while the honey and lemon soothe your throat. I'm pretty sure it works, but in the end we really don't care because we love this warm drink when we aren't feeling well. Even sometimes when we are feeling well!
UPDATE: Our beloved Dr. Pat passed away November 19,2010 at the age of 59 from Melanoma so now this recipe with all of it's great reviews is even more special to our family. We will miss you forever Pat!!!
