Herb Butter for Corn Recipe: How to Make It image

This is a sweet treat for corn on the cob, especially tasty on corn done on the grill. It's a nice change from plain butter— and easier than sprinkling seasonings separately!

1 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon chopped fresh sweet basil or 1/2 teaspoon dried basil

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine butter and basil until smooth. Spread on cooked corn on the cob. Refrigerate leftovers.

Deliciously moist corn baked in the oven and seasoned with garlic and herb butter. You can use just plain butter with salt and pepper if you prefer or any flavoured butter of your choice.

Cook Time 30 minutes

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 corn cobs, leaves and silks removed
60 g butter
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 teaspoon dried herbs
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1 pinch ground black pepper
1 pinch sea salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 200°C.
  • Remove all the husks and silks from the corn cobs.
  • To make the Herb & Garlic Butter- mix all ingredients together is a small mixing bowl.
  • Smear the flavoured butter over the corn cobs. Wrap the corn cobs in aluminium foil and secrely seal.
  • Place the corn cobs on a baking tray and bake in a preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  • When cooked remove from the oven and allow to stand for 5 minutes before opening the foil to remove cooked corn. The corn will still be very hot-be careful not to burn yourself on the steam.
