Valentine Pizzas Recipe - Pillsbury.com image

Every day is a good day to tell your family you love them, and a heart-shaped pizza is the most delicious way to do it. Making heart pizza is pretty easy, just use a can of Pillsbury™ Refrigerated Classic Pizza Crust and add the toppings you love the most. This recipe will help you create a homemade heart pizza so you can say "I love you," with every bite.

Provided by Pillsbury Kitchens

Total Time 35 minutes

Prep Time 20 minutes

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 can (13.8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Classic Crust Pizza Crust or 1 can (11 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Thin Crust Pizza Crust
1 can (8 oz) pizza sauce
24 slices turkey pepperoni with 70% less fat
3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (3 oz)

Steps:

  • If using classic crust: Heat oven to 425°F. Lightly spray or grease large cookie sheet. If using thin crust: Heat oven to 400 F. Spray or grease 15x10-inch or larger dark or nonstick cookie sheet.
  • Unroll dough on work surface. With sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut dough into 4 rectangles. Place rectangles on cookie sheet. Cut 1-inch slit in center of wide edge of each dough portion; on opposite wide edge across from slit, pinch dough together to shape point of heart. Slightly separate each cut slit, and gently press dough into a 6x5-inch heart, creating slight rim on edge of dough.
  • Divide pizza sauce evenly onto hearts, spreading to within 1/2 inch of edges. Top each with 6 slices pepperoni and 3 tablespoons cheese.
  • Bake classic crust 13 to 16 minutes, thin crust 9 to 13 minutes, or until crust edges are golden brown and cheese is melted.

RECIPE: HEART-SHAPED PIZZA | SAINSBURY'S RECIPES

Recipe: Heart-shaped pizza | Sainsbury's Recipes image

What better way to declare your love than with heart-shaped pizza? Try a meat feast with parma ham, onion chutney and feta; a veggie delight with artichoke antipasto, roasted red peppers, black olives, feta and red onion; or a classic Italian with sliced cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and green pesto.

Provided by Sainsbury's Team

Total Time 60 minutes

Prep Time 15 minutes

Cook Time 45 minutes

Yield 2

Number Of Ingredients 11

bread flour, plus extra for dusting
sea salt
dried yeast
olive oil, plus extra for greasing
olive oil
onion, finely chopped
fat cloves of garlic, finely sliced
tin chopped tomatoes
2 tbsp thyme sprigs
3 large red peppers
light mozzarella, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Combine the flour and salt in a large bowl and make a well in the centre. Add the yeast and oil to 140ml warm water and stir to combine. Pour the liquid into the well and stir until the mixture starts to come together into a dough. Remove from the bowl and knead for 2-3 minutes, until the dough is smooth and pliable.

Grease a bowl with oil and place the dough in the bowl. Cover with clingfilm and leave in a warm place for 45 minutes until doubled in size.

Meanwhile, heat the oil in a saucepan over a low heat. Add the onion and garlic and sweat gently for 6-8 minutes. Add the tomatoes and a few sprigs of thyme and stir well. Partially cover and leave to simmer for 15-20 minutes, until reduced and thick. Remove the thyme sprigs and season with black pepper. Purée with a stick blender or in a mini processor, then leave to cool slightly.

Preheat the oven to 220°C/gas mark 7. When the dough has doubled in size, tip on to a floured surface and knock out the air. Divide in half and shape into two balls. Roll the balls into two large 12-inch rounds, then place each on a separate baking tray. Using your hands, shape into heart shapes.

Working from the top, cut each pepper into four flat slices, discarding the core in the middle. Using a heart cutter, cut out as many heart shapes as you can. Using a really sharp knife, cut the hearts horizontally to make them really thin. Alternatively, you can use pre-roasted peppers from a jar and cut into shape.

Spread the bases with the tomato sauce, then top with mozzarella cheese and scatter over the pepper hearts. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes.
