HEART SHAPED FOOD CUTTER RECIPES

Steps:

• Roll out the dough and cut it into heart shapes using a cookie cutter, squares, rectangular, or round shapes.
• Fill the center with prefer flavors above.
• Seal with egg wash.
• Top with another piece of dough.
• Brush top with more egg wash and poke holes in each randomly over the top with a fork tines.
• Bake on a parchment-lined cookie sheet for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown on top and depending on the size you make.
• Cool completely, frost, and garnish with sugar or sprinkles.

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 375°F. In a large bowl beat butter with a mixer on medium to high 30 seconds. Add granulated sugar and baking powder, Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Mix the egg, vanilla, and almond extract if using until all combined. Beat in salt and as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in any remaining flour.
• On a lightly floured surface roll out the dough to 1/8- to 1/4-inch thickness. Using 2- to 3-inch cookie cutters, cut dough into desired shapes. (Dip cutters in flour to prevent sticking.) Place cutouts 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Repeat with the remaining dough. Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are firm but not brown. Remove; cool on wire rack.
