This is a very easy potatoe casserole that everyone will love. This is a great change from regular old mashed potatoes.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 (2 lb) bag frozen cubed hash brown potatoes (thawed)
1 small onion
3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 -8 ounce sour cream
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of celery soup
1/4 cup butter
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
3 cups corn flakes
1/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon garlic salt, and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • In a large bowl mix, hash browns, onion,cheese,sour cream,and the 2 cans of soup. Melt 1/2 stick of butter and cream cheese. Pour this mixture over hash brown mixture and mix well. Once mixed pour into a greased 9x13 pan. Crush corn flakes and mix with other 1/2 stick of butter and pour on top. Bake at 300 for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

2 cans (10-3/4 ounces each) condensed cream of potato soup, undiluted
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 package (32 ounces) frozen cubed hash brown potatoes, thawed
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, mix soup, sour cream, garlic powder and pepper until blended. Stir in remaining ingredients., Transfer to a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Bake, uncovered, 55-65 minutes or until golden brown and potatoes are tender. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Combine cornflakes and remaining 1/4 cup butter; sprinkle on top. Bake, covered, at 350° until heated through, 40-50 minutes. Uncover, bake until top is golden brown, 10 minutes longer. If desired, garnish with savory.
    Freeze option: Cover and freeze unbaked casserole. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Preheat oven to 350°. Bake casserole as directed, increasing time as necessary to heat through and for a thermometer inserted in center to read 165°.
