Number Of Ingredients 3

1 loaf (1 pound) French bread
2 tbsps olive oil
1/2 tsp McCormick® Parsley Flakes

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Slice bread into 32 (1/2-inch thick) slices. Mix oil and parsley in small bowl. Brush oil mixture lightly on both sides of bread slices. Place in single layer on baking sheet.
  • Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until crisp and light brown, turning once. Cool on wire rack.
  • If not using immediately, store cooled toast in airtight container.

These thin, crisp breadsticks created in our Test Kitchen add a bit of elegance to a holiday dinner. Each bite is perfectly seasoned with thyme and coarse salt.

Yield 16 breadsticks.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons shortening
1/2 to 3/4 cup ice water
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme

Steps:

  • In a food processor, combine the flour, baking powder, salt and shortening; cover and process until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. While processing, gradually add water until dough forms a ball., Transfer to a floured surface. Roll dough into a 10x8-in. rectangle. Cut into sixteen 10x1/2-in. strips. Twist each strip 4 times and place on baking sheets. Brush with oil. Combine coarse salt and thyme; sprinkle over breadsticks. , Bake at 350° until golden brown and crisp, 18-20 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
