HAMBURGER GRAVY OVER MASHED POTATOES RECIPE - FOOD.COM
I got this from a local cookbook. It's great for someone like me who is is not-so-hot at making gravy. Serve with sliced cantaloupe or tomatoes and hot biscuits.

Number Of Ingredients 8
Steps:
- Brown ground round. Drain any grease. Add margarine and flour. Cook for a few minutes over medium heat. Add milk. Increase heat and cook, stirring constantly until thickened. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add the cayenne pepper.
- Serve over mashed potatoes.

Steps:
- Place hamburger and onion in a large skillet. Crumble and cook over medium high heat; add Worcestershire sauce, cook until evenly browned. Remove from heat and sprinkle flour over cooked hamburger. Stir until evenly coated and all the fat is absorbed.
- Place skillet over medium heat; add half the milk and stir until gravy is thicken . Add remaining milk until desired consistency has been reached and gravy comes to a boil Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder.
- Note: Sometimes I like to add a can of mushroom soup to this or a can of peas undrained. Great over waffles too!
