225 grams Puff pastry dough (frozen)
50 grams Crème fraiche
salt
freshly ground peppers
200 grams ham (1 thick slice)
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon milk

Steps:

  • Thaw puff pastry. Lay on a work surface and roll out to a 40 cm (approximately 16 inches) square and cut into eight slices. Spread each piece with creme fraiche. Cut ham into strips and place on top of each square.
  • From the broad side of each piece, roll up each piece to the tip and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Mix egg yolk and milk together in a bowl. Brush croissants with egg yolk mixture and bake in a preheated 220°C (approximately 425°F) for about 20 minutes. Let cool slightly then serve.

8 thin slices cooked ham (8 oz)
4 thin slices Cheddar cheese (4 oz), each cut into 4 strips

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Separate dough into 8 triangles. Place 1 piece of ham on each triangle; place 2 strips of cheese down center of ham. Fold in edges of ham to match shape of dough triangle.
  • Roll up each crescent, ending at tip of triangle. Place with tips down on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 15 to 19 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Serve warm.

Remove the baking sheets from the refrigerator and use a pastry brush to gently brush the surfaces of each pastry with the yolk mixture. Transfer the sheets to the oven and bake for 20 minutes.
