I found this recipe on heatherlikesfood.com in a blog that she posted about Super Bowl food. The sauce that is poured over the rolls caramelizes and gives them a gooey sweetness that meshes perfectly with the ham and Swiss. They are one of the best sliders that I have ever had!

Ingredients

16 white dinner style rolls, cut in half
24 slices honey-roasted ham
16 slices swiss cheese
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 1/2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
8 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon poppy seed
1/4 cup brown sugar

Steps:

Preheat oven to 400°.
On a rimmed baking sheet place bottom half of dinner rolls and top with 1 1/2 slices of ham and 1 slice of swiss cheese.
Spread about 1 tsp of mayonnaise on each top-half of roll and place on top of ham and cheese.
You want the rolls to be snug together, kissing just a bit so the sauce can soak up into all of the nooks and crannies.
In a small bowl combine the mustard, melted butter, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, and brown sugar.
Mix until combined and evenly pour over the assembled rolls.
Cover with foil and refrigerate until ready to bake.
Bake covered with foil for 10 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes or until the tops are browned, and cheese is good and melted.

These yummy sliders are a huge hit with the family and with the folks at our local church when we bring these to brunch! Feel free to play around with the fillings....sometimes we make these with sliced turkey and cheddar cheese. I also use spicy brown mustard at times instead of plain yellow mustard. Ingredients

2 package(s) king hawaiian rolls
1 package(s) thin sliced deli ham
1-2 package(s) swiss cheese, sliced
POPPY SEED TOPPING
1 stick(s) butter, melted
1 teaspoon(s) worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tablespoon(s) mustard
1 tablespoon(s) dried minced onion
1 tablespoon(s) poppy seeds

Steps:

Cut the top off rolls and set aside. Place a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss inside of each roll. Replace tops. Place them into a large baking dish or heavy cookie sheet tightly together.
In a medium bowl, whisk together all of the poppy seed sauce ingredients. Pour evenly over all of the sandwiches. Just use enough to cover the tops. Let sit 10 minutes or until butter sets slightly
Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until cheese is melted. Uncover and cook for 2 additional minutes or until tops are slightly brown and crispy. Serve warm.
