3 Haas avocados, halved, seeded and peeled
1 lime, juiced
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
1/2 medium onion, diced
1/2 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
2 Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
1 clove garlic, minced

Steps:

  • In a large bowl place the scooped avocado pulp and lime juice, toss to coat. Drain, and reserve the lime juice, after all of the avocados have been coated. Using a potato masher add the salt, cumin, and cayenne and mash. Then, fold in the onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and garlic. Add 1 tablespoon of the reserved lime juice. Let sit at room temperature for 1 hour and then serve.

2 large ripe avocados
2 teaspoons fresh lime juice (plus more to taste)
1/4 cup finely chopped white onion (or red onion)
1/2 jalapeno (or serrano chile, seeds and ribs removed and finely chopped)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
1 Roma tomato (seeds removed and chopped, optional)

Steps:

  • Quarter the avocados, then remove the pits and peel. Place the avocado flesh in a large bowl.
  • Mash the avocados with a fork to your desired consistency.
  • Add the remaining ingredients to the bowl. Stir to combine. Taste and adjust the ingredients as needed.
  • Guacamole tastes best chilled, so refrigerate for about 20 minutes before serving. This time also allows the flavors to meld. Serve with tortilla chips, fresh vegetables, etc.
