SPICED GROUND BEEF WITH COUSCOUS | SO DELICIOUS
Couscous and ground beef get along really well. We spiced and flavored this ground meat with garam masala, cumin, thyme, parsley, and onion. Then we cooked the couscous with red onion, butter, vegetable stock, and even 1 teaspoon of brown sugar.

Steps:
- For the ground beef: Add the vegetable oil to a skillet over medium heat. Add the garam masala and the ground beef. Break the beef lump into smaller pieces using a spatula.
- Add some salt, the cumin powder, dried thyme, dried parsley, stir just a little and let it brown for a few minutes. Add the spring onion, stir and cook for 1-2 minutes more. Set aside.
- For the couscous: Add the vegetable oil to a saucepan over low heat. Add the red onion, too. Cook and stir until it starts to get tender.
- Add the butter and the brown sugar and continue cooking and stirring.
- Add the couscous and vegetable stock, season with salt and pepper and continue cooking and stirring for a few minutes more.
- Serve the beef and couscous together and garnish with basil leaves.

Steps:
- Brown beef in a heavy skillet and pour off excess fat.
- Add broth, pepper, olives, onion, garlic, cumin and thyme.
- Top with beef, cover and cook on low 4-5 hours until vegetables are tender.
- Add water to a small sauce pan and bring to a boil.
- Stir in couscous, remove from heat and cover.
- After 5 minutes, remove cover and stir with a fork.
- Spoon couscous on to individual plates and top with the beef mixture.

- In 12-inch skillet, heat oil over medium heat until hot. Add carrots, onion, paprika, allspice, and cinnamon, and cook 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Increase heat to medium-high and stir in ground beef and cook about 5 minutes or until meat is no longer pink, breaking up meat with side of spoon. Stir in beans, apricots, parsley, salt, and 1/2 cup broth. Simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes or until mixture thickens slightly. Meanwhile, prepare couscous as label directs, but substitute remaining 1 1/4 cups broth for some of the water called for to prepare couscous. Fluff couscous with fork. Spoon couscous onto 6 dinner plates or bowls. Top with beef mixture.
