Easy Breakfast Sandwich | Better Homes & Gardens image

You may have seen this method for making breakfast egg sandwiches in your social media feeds, now you can master it, too! Cook up your egg and add the bread directly on top it, flip, fill, and eat.

Yield 1 sandwich

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 slices bacon
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
2 slices sandwich bread
2 eggs, beaten
1 - 2 slices American or cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • In a large nonstick skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  • Meanwhile, spread mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread, set aside.
  • Carefully wipe bacon grease evenly around the pan with a paper towel. Add eggs and do not stir. Add bread, mayonnaise side up, to the eggs while still wet. Let cook until eggs are set, about 30 seconds more. Carefully flip the egg so the bread is now on the bottom.
  • Fold edges of the egg in towards the center. Add cheese and reserved bacon. Fold sandwich in half and continue to cook to melt the cheese, about 10 seconds on each side. Slice and serve hot.

I love to make these on the weekends! It's so versatile, too...you can mix & match your favorite bagels, cheeses and meats to create your own personal touch!

Yield 1 sandwich, 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 bagel (flavor of your choice- I prefer Everything or Egg bagels)
1 egg
1 slice cheese (flavor of your choice- I prefer American)
2 pieces deli ham (any breakfast meat) or 2 pieces Canadian bacon (any breakfast meat)
1 tablespoon butter

Steps:

  • Place bagel in toaster and toast as desired.
  • Over medium heat, fry egg in frying pan.
  • Turn off heat but, leave pan on burner.
  • Place meat on top of egg and then the cheese on top of the meat.
  • Cover with a lid and let the heat melt the cheese.
  • Butter toasted bagel.
  • Place egg, meat, and cheese pile on one half of bagel and top with the other half.
  • Slice in half and enjoy!
