Everyone will ask you for the recipe for these bars after just one bite! They're easy to make and everyone will love them at your next gathering or party.

3 cups pecan halves and pieces
1?¾ cups all-purpose flour
¾ cup powdered sugar
¾ cup cold butter, cubed
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa
1?½ cups semisweet chocolate morsels
¾ cup firmly packed brown sugar
¾ cup light corn syrup
¼ cup butter, melted
3 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup sweetened flaked coconut

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Bake pecans in a single layer in a shallow pan 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly toasted and fragrant, stirring halfway through.
  • Line bottom and sides of a 13- x 9-inch pan with heavy-duty aluminum foil, allowing 2 to 3 inches to extend over sides. Lightly grease foil.
  • Pulse flour and next 3 ingredients in a food processor 5 to 6 times or until mixture resembles coarse meal. Press mixture on bottom and 3/4 inch up sides of prepared pan.
  • Bake crust at 350° for 15 minutes. Remove from oven, and sprinkle chocolate morsels over crust. Cool completely on a wire rack (about 30 minutes).
  • Whisk together brown sugar and next 3 ingredients until smooth. Stir in coconut and toasted pecans, and spoon into prepared crust.
  • Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden and set. Cool completely on a wire rack (about 1 hour). Chill 1 hour. Lift baked bars from pan, using foil sides as handles. Transfer to a cutting board; cut into bars.

1 cup light corn syrup
3 eggs
1 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
¾ cup sweetened flaked coconut
¾ cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 (9 inch) deep dish prepared pie crust

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Whisk the corn syrup, eggs, sugar, butter, and vanilla together in a mixing bowl until light-colored and well blended. Stir in the pecans and coconut. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the bottom of the prepared pie crust. Pour the corn syrup mixture over the chocolate chips.
  • Bake in preheated oven until top is set, 55 to 60 minutes. Cool completely on a rack before serving, about 2 hours.

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F. On a lightly floured surface, roll the piecrust into a 13-inch circle. Transfer to a deep dish 9-inch pie plate. Tuck the edges under and crimp as desired. Freeze for 20 minutes. Prick the bottom of the crust 8-10 times, all over, with a fork. Line the frozen piecrust with parchment paper and fill with pie weights. Place on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake for 12 minutes just until the edges of the crust as dry. Carefully remove the paper with weights. Return to the oven for 3-5 minutes until the bottom of the crust is dry and the edges just start to turn light brow. Let cool slightly. Reduce the oven temperature to 350F.  In a large bowl, whisk together the sugars, cocoa powder, and salt. Add the corn syrup, maple syrup, butter, eggs, and vanilla. Whisk until well combined. Stir in the pecans and chocolate chips. Pour the filling into the partially baked piecrust. Sprinkle a few more chocolate chips on top, if desired. Bake for 55-65 minutes or until the filling is puffed and the center wobbles slightly when the pan is gently shaken. Remove and let cool completely on a wire rack. Finish with a sprinkle of sea salt, if desired.

  • Preheat the oven to 350°. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil. Roll out the pie dough on a floured surface into a 12-inch round, starting at the center and working your way out. (Sprinkle flour over the top of the dough if it’s a bit too moist.) Carefully transfer the dough to a 9-inch pie pan. Gently press the dough against the sides of the pan. Put the pie on the baking sheet and bake until the filling puffs a little and the top is set but the center is still slightly jiggly, 35 to 40 minutes. Transfer to a rack and let cool completely, about 2 hours. Top with whipped cream, chopped pecans, coconut and shaved chocolate.
