1/3 c Walnuts chopped
3 tb Ginger ale
Fashioned; uncooked
1 ts Baking soda
1 c Sugar
1 1/2 c Seedless grapes; halved
1/2 c Cold water
1/3 c Sugar
1 1/2 c All-Purpose Flour sifted
FROSTING
1/2 c Brown sugar; firmly packed
1 c Brown sugar; firmly packed
CAKE
1/2 c Butter or margarine
1/4 c Butter or Margarine Melted
1 c Plain low-fat yogurt
1 tb Lemon Peel grated
1 tb Lemon juice
1 pk Unflavored gelatin
4 Ice cubes
1/4 ts Vanilla
8 oz Light cream cheese;softened

Steps:

  • "CAKE:Pour boiling water over oats; cover and let stand 20 minutes. Beat butter until creamy; gradually add sugars and beat until fluffy. Blend in vanilla and add eggs. Add oat mixture. Mix well. Sift together flour, soda, salt and spices. Add to creamed mixture. Pour batter into well greased and floured 9-inch square pan. Bake at 350 for 50 to 55 minutes. DO NOT REMOVE CAKE FROM PAN. You may also bake in 13 x 9-inch pan for 30 minutes. FROSTING: DOUBLE INGREDIENTS FOR 13 x 9-inch CAKE. Combine all ingredients, spread evenly over cake, and broil until frosting becomes bubbly. 2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup 2% milk
1/4 cup butter, cubed
FROSTING:
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
3/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup half-and-half cream
2 cups sweetened shredded coconut

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat the eggs, sugar and vanilla until thick and pale yellow, about 4 minutes. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; add to egg mixture and beat just until combined. In a saucepan, bring milk and butter to a boil, stirring constantly. Add to batter and beat until combined. , Pour into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. , Combine frosting ingredients; spread over warm cake. Broil 4 in. from heat until lightly browned, about 3-4 minutes.
