Prep Time 15 minutes

Cook Time 5 minutes

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 cups vegetable oil for frying
3 cups Italian-seasoned bread crumbs
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 egg
1 cup milk
4 dill pickles, quartered lengthwise

Steps:

  • Combine bread crumbs, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper in a bowl; set aside. Whisk egg and milk together in a separate bowl. Dip dill pickle spears into the egg mixture, then into the bread crumb mixture until well-coated. Dip the pickles in the egg and bread crumb mixtures a second time so each spear is double coated. Arrange pickles in a single layer on a baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in the freezer until the breading is set, about 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Fry the pickles in the preheated oil until light golden brown, 3 to 4 minutes. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

AIR-FRIED DILL PICKLE FRIES WITH RANCH BREADCRUMBS RECIPE ...

Air-Fried Dill Pickle Fries With Ranch Breadcrumbs Recipe ... image

Pickle spears are one of those foods that’s meant to be fried, and sticking them in the air fryer makes for a fun finger food. The combination of juiciness and crunch remains fantastic, while the ranch breadcrumbs bring in so much flavor you won’t need a dipping sauce.

Provided by Robby Melvin

Total Time 25 minutes

Yield Serves 8 (serving size: about 3 fries)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 (16-oz.) jar kosher dill pickle spears, drained
½ cup all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¾ cup whole buttermilk
1 large egg
1 cup panko (Japanese-style breadcrumbs)
1 (1.4-oz.) envelope ranch dressing mix
Cooking spray
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
Ranch dressing or spicy ranch dressing, for dipping (optional)

Steps:

  • Pat pickles very dry with paper towels. Cut any spears that are too thick in half lengthwise to create 1/2-inch thick spears. Combine flour and pepper in a shallow dish. Whisk together buttermilk and egg in a second shallow dish. Stir together panko and ranch dressing mix in a third shallow dish. Dredge pickles in flour mixture, shaking off excess. Dip in buttermilk mixture, and dredge in panko mixture, pressing to coat evenly.
  • Working in batches, place pickles spears in a single layer in an air fryer basket lightly coated with cooking spray. Spray tops of pickles with cooking spray, if desired, for more browning. Cook at 400°F until golden brown, 8 to 10 minutes. Repeat with remaining pickle spears. Sprinkle with chives, and serve with your favorite ranch dressing, if desired.

ALMOST-FAMOUS FRIED PICKLES RECIPE | FOOD NETWORK KITCHEN ...
Most of the things that make this steakhouse stand out — line-dancing servers, cowboy decor, huge portions — are direct imports from the Lone Star State. But the fried pickles hail from Colorado, where one Texas Roadhouse started serving the dish after a manager’s wife had a craving for them. The deep-fried pickles were such a hit, they showed up at all 360 locations in no time. Food Network Kitchens re-created the recipe so you can fry up a batch yourself.

TOP SECRET RECIPES | KFC ORIGINAL RECIPE FRIED CHICKEN
One of the most protected, discussed, and sought-after secret recipes in the food world is KFC's Original Recipe Fried Chicken. Long ago I published my first hack of the famous formula, but the recipe, which was based on research from "Big Secrets" author William Poundstone, includes only salt, pepper, MSG, and flour in the breading, and not the blend of eleven herbs and spices we have all heard about. The fried chicken made with my first recipe is good in a pinch, but it really needs several more ingredients to be a true clone. That is why, over twenty years later, I was happy to get another crack at the secret when we shot the pilot episode for my CMT TV series Top Secret Recipe. In the show, I visited KFC headquarters, talked to friends of Harlan Sanders who had seen the actual recipe, and even checked out the Corbin, Kentucky, kitchen where Harland Sanders first developed his chicken recipe. During that four-day shoot I was able to gather enough clues about the secret eleven herbs and spices to craft this new recipe—one that I believe is the closest match to the Colonel's secret fried chicken that anyone has ever revealed.
