PAT MOULD’S CAJUN FRIED BABY BACK RIBS RECIPE - FOOD.COM

Pat Mould’s Cajun Fried Baby Back Ribs Recipe - Food.com image

I am definitely lacking in grill skills, so when I threw my first back-yard party of the year, it was burgers, hot dogs, and these ribs. Easy, easy, easy and delicious!

Total Time 4 hours 20 minutes

Prep Time 4 hours

Cook Time 20 minutes

Yield 10-12 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

8 (1 3/4 lb) racks baby back ribs
1 cup cajun marinade, like Cajun Injector, divided
3 gallons peanut oil, such as LouAna
prepared barbecue sauce

Steps:

  • Take two gallon-sized resealable plastic bags, and place four racks of ribs in each bag. Add 1/2 cup Cajun marinade to each bag. Shake each bag until ribs are well coated. Refrigerate for up to 4 hours. Place perforated racks over sheet pans. Remove ribs from marinade, and place them on the racks to drain.
  • In a deep-fryer or a large, heavy pot, heat the peanut oil to 350°F Depending on how large your deep fryer or pot is, you may be able to fry up to three racks at a time, or you may only be able to fry one rack at a time. Use care, as you do not want the oil to overflow the pot. Lower the ribs into the hot oil, and cook for 18 to 20 minutes. Maintain the oil temperature at 350°F; do not allow the temperature to climb above that.
  • Remove ribs from the oil, and drain on paper towels. Cut ribs into servings, place in a bowl, and toss with barbecue sauce to taste.

CRISPY DEEP-FRIED RIBS RECIPE - OOLA | FOOD & WINE
One reason these deep-fried ribs are so impossibly good? They're oven-braised for hours in flavorful mixture that includes plenty of garlic, ginger, orange zest, and soy sauce, along with orange zest and an inspired addition: ginger ale. Once the ribs become meltingly tender, they're deep-fried so they're supercrisp. Once they're done, toss them in a sticky-sweet sauce spiked with ketchup and scallions and be sure to set out plenty of napkins. Slideshow: More Fried Foods

  • In a large, sturdy pot, heat 1 1/2 inches of vegetable oil to 375°. In a large bowl, whisk the flour with the cornstarch. Cut the racks into individual ribs. Toss the ribs in the flour mixture and shake off the excess. Working in batches, fry the ribs until the coating is lightly golden and crisp, about 2 minutes. Transfer the ribs to paper towels to drain briefly, then add them to the sauce in the bowl and toss to coat. Pile on a platter and serve hot.

FRIED RIBS! | JUST A PINCH RECIPES
This is such an easy recipe! We make these two ways, fist choice is fully cooking the ribs ourselves, or second choice is buying fully cooked ribs at the store. It is all a matter of time. We love ribs... but I have to say... we really love fried ribs! This is what we have game day, Christmas Eve, other special occasions. My 7 year old grandson Gavin, wanted this for his birthday last year... we made them.. but he could hardly eat them because his baby teeth were loose! He asked for it for this birthday coming up too... lol! We sometime double or triple the batch (my son-in-law can eat a rack by himself!). Give it a try, it impresses guests... and it is so easy!

ASIAN FRIED AND GLAZED BABY BACK RIBS RECIPE - ROY CHOI ...
One of Roy Choi’s favorite Honolulu spots is Side Street Inn. “The first time I went there, I was blown away by the dive bar scene—TVs everywhere, empty beer glasses, a mismatched hodgepodge design—and the quality of the food, which is really good,” he says. Side Street’s sticky fried ribs really stand out for Choi: He makes his version with a mixture of staple Asian sauces, including hoisin, black bean sauce, oyster sauce and Sriracha. Slideshow: Asian Beer Pairings
