FRESH TUNA STEAKS WITH LEMON RECIPE - ITALIAN.FOOD.COM
This is from one of the Mediterranean Cooking cards that my partner, Chef1MOM sent me in the Cookbook Swap. The picture is beautiful, and the combination of ingredients cannot miss.

Number Of Ingredients 9
Steps:
- Wash parsley and pat dry with paper towels.
- Mince parsley with peeled garlic.
- Wash and dry whole lemon, grate half the zest.
- Peel rest of rind and discard it.
- Slice lemon thinly.
- Squeeze lemon half; add juice, a pinch of salt and pepper, to a bowl; stir until seasonings have dissolved.
- Add wine, oil, parsley and garlic mixture, and grated lemon peel.
- Beat with fork until well blended.
- Wash and dry tuna.
- Arrange in saute or large omelet pan.
- Pour sauce over tuna and cover with lemon slices.
- Cook fish over high heat for 7-8 minutes,
- Remove lemon slices and turn fish over.
- Cook for another 2 minutes.
- Slice remaing lemon.
- Arrange tuna on serving plate.
- Drizzle with cooking juices.
- Decorate with uncooked lemon slices and sprigs of parsley.
- Serve hot or at room temperature.

We prefer serving ahi tuna steak rare, but follow along if you prefer it more well done.
Our ahi tuna steaks recipe is delicious served with seasonal vegetables and rice or soba noodles, but tuna steaks are super versatile so serve with your favorite side dishes. Drizzle with a little soy sauce and sesame oil, or balsamic vinegar and fresh herbs, and this will become your new favorite weeknight fish dish.

Steps:
- 1. Brush the tuna steaks with olive oil, then season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if using and press them lightly into the tuna. 2. Heat a skillet, cast iron pan or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, cook the tuna for 2 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes for rare. If you’d like it cooked more, cook for 3 minutes on each side. It should still be a little pink inside to avoid overcooking. 3. Remove from the pan and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Serve whole or sliced against the grain in 1-inch thick slices. 4. If grilling, cook over medium heat and cook for the same amount of time as above for your preferred level of doneness.
